Curator + Art Advisor
In 1984, Glenn moved to New York CIty to attend Pratt Institute. Initially as a way to pay for school, Glenn worked for a number of galleries, museums, collectors, and advisors as a preparator, registrar, and special projects coordinator, amongst others. The variety of required skill for these positions allowed Glenn to gain invaluable experience in all aspects of the art world. It is this intimate level of experience with every facet of the business that Glenn considers his biggest asset.
Eventually, the opportunities to create and build his own business came together, and in 2007 g a macura inc. was formed and incorporated.
Registrar + Curator
Kim Smit received her BFA from SUNY Purchase's school of Art + Design in Printmaking. In her role at g a macura inc. her "clean hands" are of help in situations large and small. Kim pays great attention to detail and has a soft spot for a well organized Desktop. Kim has previously worked for Works in Progress Printshop.
Assistant Registrar + Preparator
Zachary Naylor received his BFA in printmaking from Montserrat College of Art in 2015. He has since worked with an array of galleries, institutions, and artists installing artwork throughout New England. Zach began working with g a macura inc. in the summer of 2016, and has since proved to be an adaptable and dedicated asset to the team.
Lauren Briton began working for g a macura inc. in January of 2015. Lauren has expertise in website development, art installation and all things assistant related. Lauren brings a sense of humor and passion for a job well done to g a macura inc. Grant Jonston has more than ten years of museum and gallery experience in art installation and gallery operations management. His previous positions include Preparatory at the Everson Museum of Art, and Head Preparator at the Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum.
Grant holds an MFA in Painting from the University of Iowa. He is also an avid pilot and enjoys restoring and flying vintage World War II aircraft.
Jennifer G. Simmons
Arriving at g a macura inc. with a background in both the art and corporate sectors, Jennifer possesses a strong focus in cultivating significant collections and creative entrepreneurship. Her Interests include the art market, the creative economy, creative/cultural innovation, and has studied comparative cultural policy in Greece, the UK, and Catalonia.
Jennifer received her M.S. in Arts Administration from Boston University, where she was the 2012 recipient of the Metropolitan College Award for Excellence in Graduate Study, and obtained her B.A. from New York University in both Fine Arts and Middle Eastern & Islamic Studies. In her free time she can be found running around Brooklyn, usually under the guise of developing her photography or foodie expertise.
Nicole Sansone was a major asset during g a macura inc.'s transitional years. Joining the company in 2009, Nicole's strong writing and design skills were a natural and complimentary fit. Her energy and insights helped fuel g a macura inc.'s continuing expansion. Now a Master's candidate at Goldsmiths in London, UK, Nicole is focusing her research on the ever-shifting field of Video and Media Art.
